To all our Group winners – Rochester & Cobham, Sittingbourne, Etchinghill, Tenterden, Dartford, Weald of Kent. Group G has yet to be decided between Chislehurst and Royal Blackheath.
If you are not the designated captain of your winning team, please let me have the name and email of the person who will liaise regarding Grand final arrangements, and forward this message to him.
This year we have a near clean sweep of new participants in the Grand Final to be played at Whitstable & Seasalter on Friday 15 October 2021, with only Weald of Kent retaining their 2019 Group title. As we are playing the final on a 9-hole course, but mainly because we now have 7 competing clubs, teams are restricted to 4 pairs each, rather than 5, and I am asking each winning club captain to let me know ASAP the composition of your team in pairs (including first names and handicap indexes AND their individual choice of menu). I attach the arrangements for play.
I will send start sheets as soon as I have all names. As cards are prepared in advance, please be sure to let me know any team and/or handicap/menu changes immediately these become necessary. There will be freeze on handicap changes after 12 October.
Practice rounds can be arranged through the Whitstable Office for £10/£20 for 9/18 holes.
The club is accessible from the A299 but all roads are subject to early-morning delays and SatNavs are recommended.
If Group Organisers, or any other supporters, would like to attend the final and the late lunch (cost £16), please let me know by 12 October.
Many thanks
John Crates
PS Stuart, Could you please alert both your Group G candidate clubs to the arrangements so that they may both prepare for either eventuality
